Casper Nissen set to chase the US Cup

The next two weekends will see the Danish racing driver competing in American formula racing; this weekend, he is taking part in the fourth round of the USF Juniors Championship at the Mid-Ohio circuit.

It is a race that the 15-year-old racing driver from Toftlund, Denmark has been looking forward to. Earlier this year, he practised on the circuit and got a good feel for the track and his own pace. This weekend, he hopes that this good feeling will continue and that he’ll return to the front of the field.

“I’ve driven on the circuit before, and my lap times were very competitive, so I’m really hoping to build on that. The team has thoroughly checked my car since the last race and made several adjustments, so it should also be in top form for the weekend,” says Casper Nissen, who himself is arriving more than ready to put his foot down:

“I’ve spent many hours training on the track in the simulator recently, and I’ve stepped up both my strength training and running to gain a bit of extra power. I feel really well prepared,” he says, admitting that expectations are sky-high ahead of this weekend’s two races:

“It’s been a challenging season so far, and I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience, but now I need to move up the field and bring home some top finishes. I’m confident that’s going to happen this weekend,” says Casper Nissen, who will remain in the US after this weekend’s races – as the next round of the championship takes place next weekend at Lime Rock Park, further east in the state of Connecticut.
