The third round of the USF Juniors Championship will be held at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park east of Toronto. Casper Nissen is aiming to bring home trophies across the Atlantic.
When the 15-year-old racing driver from Toftlund drove the second round of the championship in South Carolina, the speed was good, but a combination of unfortunate collisions and a car set-up that didn’t quite suit the track conditions meant that top results failed to materialise. Casper Nissen is aiming to change that this weekend.
“I had really good speed in the car last time, but the track teased us a bit, and then I was unlucky to be run into, so I lost positions. Now I think my bad luck is over, and I’m really looking forward to giving it another go,” says Casper Nissen, who knows that the Jay Howard Driver Development team has done their homework before the weekend:
“It’s a really good team that’s on top of things. They have the experience to give me a winning car so I can focus on doing my best behind the wheel. When it all comes down to it, I have the speed and technique to be right up front, so I hope we can achieve that this time”, he says.
This weekend’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park is filled with a high-octane atmosphere, with the top of Canadian motorsport gathered on the track. Casper Nissen is looking forward to experiencing one thing in particular up close:
“The Canadian NASCAR championship is on the track. It’s probably some of the wildest motorsport they have in North America, so when they race, I’ll be in the stands to watch. I can’t wait to see and hear that,” the teenager enthuses.
